What you need to do before the event:
1) Don't forget to register!
We want to know who is coming before the event so we can make our program as good and engaging as possible. So, help us out and sign up on our home page.
2) Think!
You need to then think about one pivotal album that you want to share with your community. We encourage you to think of whole albums and possibly ones that you think no one else would bring to the exchange. Consider these questions:
And then more importantly, be prepared to talk about WHY you love this band and album. Maybe these questions will help you think:
Bring your song to the Digital Gym on the day of the event. It can on be your phone, Ipod, walkman, talkman, portable cd player, just as long as you bring a handheld device (with headphones!) that can play music at the event. If you want to come, but can’t bring your own device, email us at [email protected] and we will hook you up.
What happens when you get there?
You need to show up to the Digital Gym at 2PM ready to meet new friends and share your favorite album. When you walk through the door, you will sign up for one sharing experience:
If you have any questions about the event or about what you need to participate, please write us at [email protected]. Also, if you have any ideas for us or want to help organize, we encourage you to write as well.
Last thing; if you think this idea is dope and worthy of your attendance, we want you to TALK about it. Tell your neighbors, friends, momma, and dentist! This will be the first of many community workshops and we want to get as many different folks to participate as we can.

You need to then think about one pivotal album that you want to share with your community. We encourage you to think of whole albums and possibly ones that you think no one else would bring to the exchange. Consider these questions:
- What is that one album that you could never get sick of?
- Which one never leaves your rotation in the car?
- What album has changed your life or defined a significant part of it?
And then more importantly, be prepared to talk about WHY you love this band and album. Maybe these questions will help you think:
- Where were you when you first heard it?
- Is there a particular memory or time of your life you connect to this song?
- What do you feel when you hear this song?
- What does the song mean- and more importantly, what does the song mean to you?

- Silent You will set up your listening station and have time to write out your reflection on a separate piece of paper. From there, you will rotate around to others' different stations, listening to others’ songs, and writing your own feedback.
- Social This will be like a good old fashioned speed dating mixer. We will initially pair you up with another music lover and you will have some time to share each other’s music and talk about what it means to you. After a few minutes, we will shout out SWITCH and you will find another partner to share with.
- Public You will stand and present your song to the group- talking about your connection to it and then bumping a segment of the song for everyone to listen to. This will be the most nerve-wracking experience, but we will encourage a warm and receptive crowd. No space for haters.
